    Senior Accountant

    SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Located in Oxford Massachusetts & Rochester, New York, Environmental Equipment Sales & Service (EESS), is the one-stop-shop with a strong reputation and vast expertise. We offer products, services, and innovations that provide solutions our customers need now and in the future. We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Accountant to our growing team. This individual will be responsible for:
    • Oxford, MA & Rochester, NY locations.
    • Oversees all the organization’s accounting activities.
    • Directs the organization’s accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations.

    TASKS

    • Report to the Director of Finance of the parent company.
    • Responsible for producing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other related reports, analyses, and projections.
    • Analyze business operations, trends, costs and revenues, to project future activity and identify weaknesses and opportunities.
    • Prepare, complete, adhere, and maintain month-end close – this includes standardizing processes, ensuring accruals and prepaids consistently.
    • Prepare and maintain daily cash flow and cash flow reports – Project cash needs at weekly intervals.
    • Review collections with Office Manager weekly and facilitate proper billing processes with various billing platforms.
    • Lead the yearly budget preparation with department heads.
    • Assess, execute, and help streamline policies within the scope of financial operations • Oversee billing including determining, collecting, filing, and paying FET charges, processing title transfers, determining & paying sales commissions – Review & reconciliation of monthly credit card charges.
    • Assist with collections as needed. Monitor working capital and line of credit utilization.
    • Assist with the implementation of software upgrades, Karmark, Avalara sales tax as well as exemption certificate management.
    • Vendor maintenance and identification of 1099 vendors.
    • Analyze actuals vs. budget and offer task level strategic input to ownership group.
    • Maintains a professional work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS

    • Leadership and business acumen.
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
    • Knowledge of financial forecasting.
    • Experience creating financial statements, reports, and month-end/year-end close processes.
    • Experience using accounting and software systems/programs.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize.
    • Experience managing a company’s cash flow.
    • Proficient in computer software systems including MS Office and MS Excel.
    • Exceptional motivational skills and works well with a team but also able to work alone.
    • Knowledge of sales practices and the most efficient customer service techniques.
    • Ability to interpret sales metrics.
    • Ability to pay strong attention to detail and manage multiple tasks with urgency.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Overall –  Previous work-related experience. Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
    • Travel – As needed basis, ≤ 15%
    • Experience – Microsoft Office Suite: 2 years (Required)
    • Customer Service: 2 years (Required)
    • Sales Admin, Finance, Accounting: 3 years (Required)
    • Karmak & Salesforce (Preferred)
    • Operations & operations management (Preferred)
    • Education •  A bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is required.
