Summary

EESS is a refuse, recycling, and street maintenance equipment dealer and parts and service supplier serving Ohio, Michigan, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, New York, and Rhode Island. We are the authorized dealer for Heil garbage trucks, Galbreath roll-offs, Schwarze sweepers, and more. In addition, we offer a complete line of new and used garbage trucks, roll-off’s and Heil OEM parts.

We are seeking a motivated, skilled heavy-duty truck and equipment Heavy-Duty Technician to work in the shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on various types of heavy equipment and vehicles. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Performs repairs, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, and light body modification and up-fitting for vehicles and equipment
  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and assembly drawings
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
  • Good communication skills relative to supervisor & other related departments
  • Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, andperforms all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, plus the physical ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead.
  • Must have the ability to climb and work from a ladder
  • Ability to operate a fork lift
  • Ability to operate various shop tools(saws, drills, fork lifts, etc.)
  • •Ability to travel with overnight stay 3-4 nights
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must have a valid driver’s license & transportation
Education
  • Required: a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent plus vocational training or job-related course work.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in Refuse Industry/Environment
  • Preferred: Automotive or other mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to travel with overnight stay 3-4 nights some weeks
  • Welding and fabricating experience is a plus
  • Must have own tools of the trade

As a Parts & Service Sales Specialist, you are primarily responsible for facilitating customer needs and requests in a way that is informative, productive and efficient. Utilizing your knowledge of the parts you sell, how you can greet customers, help locate the parts our customers need and educate them about part functions.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the satisfaction and success of our valued customers. You are expected to conduct regular visits to customers’ locations to establish strong rapport and understand their unique requirements. This role involves a combination of on-site visits, virtual interactions, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver unparalleled service.

Summary

The Shop Foreman provides direction to all levels of truck shop technicians to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Oversee planning and scheduling of all repair work to reduce lost productivity. Monitor shop’s operational performance and efficiency and act to redirect activities appropriately. Report to management on shop performance; make recommendations for process/programmatic changes for improvement and/or efficiencies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of technicians and support staff.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote a culture of excellence, care, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Regularly communicates with management, sales, and others regarding the status of reconditioned vehicles, service jobs and/or other equipment
  • Ensures the shop maintains quality and safety standards
  • Ensures maintenance and repairs are performed safely, effectively, and expeditiously
  • Performs and monitors vehicle inspections
  • Manage shop repairs by inspecting all work daily
  • Ensure quality by inspecting repairs made by each technician on a daily basis
  • Ensure reconditioned trucks are complete and road ready when they leave the shop

  • Conducts employee observations to ensure safety and procedures are being followed
  • Perform repair and maintenance of vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies, and ensure same of others in department
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary repairs, adjustments or replacements
  • Complete adjustments, repairs, and component replacements to vehicles, equipment, and related components

Education

  • Required: 5+ years in previous experience maintenance role working on heavy transportation equipment requiring thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA and other federal and state
  • Required: 2+ years of experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management position requiring knowledge and application of OSHA General Industry Standards
  • Required: Ability to obtain CDL license
